In-Building Cellular (DAS)
Full bars in the ballroom, the elevator, and the garage.
Energy-efficient glass, concrete, and below-grade meeting space block cellular signals, and guests notice the moment a call drops in the elevator. WiredStay designs and installs distributed antenna systems and carrier-approved boosters that bring every major carrier's signal inside the property.
Why hotels lose signal
Low-emissivity glass, steel framing, concrete decks, and underground ballrooms are excellent at keeping weather out and equally good at keeping cellular signals out. Guests expect their phones to work in the room, the meeting, and the elevator, and conference clients ask about it before they book.
Distributed antenna systems
A DAS captures carrier signals from a rooftop antenna or a direct carrier feed and distributes them through the property over fiber and coaxial cable to small antennas on each floor. Guests on every major carrier get a strong, consistent signal in rooms, meeting space, elevators, and garages.
Boosters for smaller properties
Select-service and limited-service hotels often need only carrier-approved signal boosters in the problem areas. We measure the signal, identify the dead zones, and specify the smallest system that solves the problem.
Public-safety coverage
Many jurisdictions require in-building coverage for first-responder radios before a certificate of occupancy is issued. WiredStay designs and installs emergency responder communication systems and coordinates testing with the authority having jurisdiction.
What is included
In-Building Cellular (DAS): what we provide
Multi-carrier DAS
One system that serves every major carrier.
Signal surveys
Floor-by-floor measurement before and after installation.
Carrier coordination
Approvals and feeds arranged with each carrier.
Public-safety systems
First-responder radio coverage designed to local code.
Shared infrastructure
Fiber and pathways shared with the property network.
Ongoing monitoring
System health watched by our operations center.
Questions
Common questions
Does the DAS replace Wi-Fi?
No. Wi-Fi carries most data inside the property; the DAS carries cellular voice and data for guests' mobile plans. Most properties need both.
Is a DAS required by code?
Cellular coverage is not, but many jurisdictions require public-safety radio coverage in new buildings. We handle both in one design.
