Questions and answers
Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions owners, general managers, developers, and brands ask most often about guest Wi-Fi, conference networks, television, casting, phone systems, brand standards, pricing, installation, and support.
What does WiredStay do?
WiredStay provides managed guest Wi-Fi, conference and event networks, free-to-guest television, secure casting, hotel phone systems, and back-of-house networks for hotels, resorts, casinos, vacation rentals, and other hospitality properties. We design, install, monitor, and support the network, and guests call us directly.
Where does WiredStay provide service?
Nationwide. We serve properties in all 50 states from our headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada, with network operations around the clock and technicians dispatched to every market. We maintain city pages for the 50 largest metropolitan areas, and we serve properties well beyond them.
Does WiredStay meet hotel brand standards?
Yes. We design to the published connectivity standards of the major hotel brands, test the property before the brand does, and provide the documentation an inspection asks for. We also plan network work for property improvement plans and conversions backward from the deadline.
How do guests connect?
Guests join the network and sign in with their room number and last name on a branded welcome page tied to the property management system. Loyalty members can be recognized automatically, and access ends at checkout.
Who do guests call for support?
WiredStay. Our U.S.-based support team answers by phone, text, and chat 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The front desk, engineering, and conference services have a separate staff line.
Can we charge for premium Wi-Fi or event networks?
Yes. The welcome page sells premium tiers billed to the folio, and the conference scheduler lets your sales team price and bill private event networks. The property sets the pricing.
Does WiredStay provide television?
Yes. Free-to-guest HD lineups are delivered over the property network to every room with no set-top boxes, along with a branded welcome screen, public-area screens, and secure casting from the guest's own phone.
What about the phone system?
WiredStay provides cloud phone service integrated with the property management system for check-in, folio posting, and wake-up calls, configured for Kari's Law and RAY BAUM's Act emergency calling, with monitored elevator, pool, and fire alarm lines.
Can WiredStay install while the hotel is open?
Yes. Most of our installations are in operating hotels. We work floor by floor, coordinate with housekeeping and the front desk, and return rooms to service the same day.
Does WiredStay serve vacation rentals?
Yes. We install monitored gateways in every home in a rental portfolio, generate a private network password for each stay, keep smart home devices on an always-on network, and take the guest's call directly.
How is the service paid for?
Agreements can be owner-funded or structured as network-as-a-service, in which WiredStay owns and maintains the equipment for a monthly fee. Premium tiers and event networks generate revenue that offsets the cost.
